James A. Whisman, Jr. is a member of Whisman, Giordano & Associates, LLC, Certified Public Accountants. After acquiring experience with national and local CPA firms, he founded his firm in 1973 with the objective of providing auditing, tax and financial advisory services.
Over the course of his career he has been involved with numerous professional, community and civic organizations among which he has served as an officer and director of: the Delaware Society of CPA’s; the Estate Planning Council of Delaware; Delaware Chapter of American Red Cross; Preservation Delaware; Junior Achievement and many other community groups.
He currently is an officer and board member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, the Chadds Ford Historical Society, the Colonial Education Foundation, Faithful Friends animal rescue, and Chadds Ford Open Space Committee. Jim has trained for disaster relief with the Red Cross and is available for emergency service when the need may arise.
He is a member of The First Presbyterian Church in West Chester, PA. He and his wife Barbara live in Old New Castle, DE.
He is a registered representative with Walnut Street Securities and holds the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 registrations. He is also a licensed producer for life, accident and health insurance in DE, PA and FL.
Jim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has professional accreditations as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP). He is a member of the Personal Financial Planning and Tax Sections of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Financial Planning Association, Estate Planning Council and several other organizations.
