Marsha M. Rubin has been a CPA for 29 years, and a CFP® for 19 years. She has an MBA in Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
She operates her own CPA practice, as well as her Financial Advisory practice with Wharton Financial Services (WFS).
In her CPA practice, she focuses on individual tax return preparation, tax planning, and divorce planning. In her Financial Advisory practice, she does comprehensive financial planning, as well as module planning. Services may cover cash flow planning, educational planning, retirement planning, insurance planning, investment planning, and/or estate planning.
In addition, many clients retain her to help them manage their money through a variety of products.
She is a registered representative with Walnut Street Securities and holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations. She is also licensed as a producer for life, accident and health insurance in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
For the ten years prior to going independent with WFS, Ms. Rubin was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch. Before becoming an employee at Merrill, she owned her own tax and financial planning practice and was also half owner of a Computer Training Company called Alternative Computer Co., Inc. Her partner and she grew the company to 20 employees at four locations and then sold it.
Ms. Rubin considers herself the equivalent of the old family doctor. She makes house calls,if needed. She makes every effort to know and understand her clients and their situations. What she is striving for is to take her knowledge and experience, and to be able to look out of her client’s eyes and see what seems to make sense for them.
Ms. Rubin has two grown children who live in the Philadelphia area. She donates time and resources to the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education and to Camp Dreamcatcher (a camp for children who have AIDS or are HIV+).
She is on several committees of the PA Institute of CPAs, which she has been a member of for 25 years. She enjoys hiking, yard work, reading, and square dancing.
